Knowing the depth of your fishing site can greatly enhance your success in hooking up with the fish that you want to catch. Finding out the general area that your target fish inhabits or feeds in is also critical to get good results. For example, if you want to catch grunt fish, targeting the upper third area would be a good strategy, whereas snappers are more plentiful in the lower third, while flounders normally dwell on the very bottom.
